The Unbound Discipleship Program

Freedom begins where God's truth takes root
Thousands have found lasting freedom in Christ through "Unbound: Growing Ever-freer in Christ."
Your journey can begin here.

What is "Unbound?"
Freedom Begins Where Truth Is Lived

Unbound: Growing Ever-freer in  Christ is a relational discipleship journey that helps people encounter truth, discover freedom, and learn to live out of who God says they are.

Unbound is a focused, guided approach to saturating on God's Word and immersing in its significance. We have been witnesses to God using Unbound to transform thousands of lives all over the world.

Wherever the journey begins, Unbound invites people to slow their pace, to dwell in God’s Word purposefully, and to walk closely with others as truth replaces lies and freedom takes root like never before.

Why Unbound is Different

Unbound does not begin with fixing behavior or managing symptoms. It begins with what Scripture reveals to be foundational: what we believe shapes how we live.

An oft-heard axiom here is "What we saturate on is what we believe, and what we believe is what we live. We cannot do otherwise." So whatever we saturate on—be it lies, toxic shame, or the truth—forms our inner life. When hearts and minds are saturated with distorted messages, even sincere people can find themselves living in bondage to unresolved sin, the effects of evils they have suffered, and the lies they have unwittingly believed. As God's truth takes root, lives begin to change from the inside out.

Unbound helps people dwell deeply in Scripture, not as an intellectual exercise in memorization, but as a way to learn to engraft God's truth into the depths of their hearts and souls, and then live in the truth. Over time, God’s Word reshapes our sense of identity, restores confidence in His character, and brings clarity to how faith in Him intersects with everyday life.

Again and again, participants discover that the places where life feels most broken are often rooted in one or more of the same realities:
  • Uncertainty about identity and worth
  • Confusion about God’s nature or character
  • Lack of confidence in who God truly is
  • Difficulty connecting biblical truth to lived experience

Unbound brings these together in a patient, relational process that allows truth to displace lies and freedom to take root, and often in ways people have never experienced before.

How Unbound Is Experienced

Unbound is experienced through a steady rhythm of personal engagement with Scripture and personal reflection shared with one or more others.

This relational context is the ideal setting for Unbound, as truth is best discovered and lived out in the presence of caring, prayerful relationships. It is within this shared life that we most fully experience the “one-anothers” of the New Testament. At the same time, those who are not yet able to walk with a partner or group can still engage the Unbound material meaningfully, allowing God’s Word to begin reshaping their beliefs, prayer, and daily life.

While Unbound can be entered at different places, it is most fully experienced when the lessons are engaged in order, with each one building on the foundation laid by those that have come before.

Whether experienced alongside others or begun individually, Unbound: Growing Ever-freer in Christ invites people into a patient, Scripture-saturated journey where freedom unfolds over time and often opens the door to deeper connection, shared care, and a vibrant life of true freedom in Christ.

Who Unbound Is For

Unbound is for men and women who sense that something is keeping them from living fully free in Christ and are willing to engage Scripture thoughtfully, honestly, and patiently. We often say that "Learning to live in the freedom Christ has bought us is a process, not an event."

People discover Unbound from many directions. Some are exploring faith for the first time. Others have walked with Christ for years and are surprised to discover how deeply Scripture speaks to identity, worth, and freedom when given space to be absorbed and lived. Still others have a sense of staleness in their walk with Christ and appreciate the refreshment found in "washing with the water of the Word."

Unbound is often used by:
  • Individuals seeking freedom from shame, fear, addiction, or entrenched patterns
  • Those impacted by broken relationships, abuse, or spiritual harm
  • Believers longing to understand their identity in Christ more deeply
  • Residential programs where Unbound has borne fruit when other recovery approaches have not
  • Pastors, counselors, and ministry leaders seeking a biblically grounded, relational approach to soul-care

Unbound is not a quick fix or a substitute for the local church. It is a Scripture-saturated discipleship journey that serves people at different stages of life, awakening faith, deepening understanding, and helping God's truth take dynamic root in everyday life.

Where To Begin

Whether you are encountering Unbound for the first time or returning with some familiarity, you are welcome to engage wherever fits best.

Some may wish to begin by revisiting Unbound's heart and philosophy, and how Scripture, identity, and freedom are woven together. Others may be ready to explore the material, connect with Unbound leaders, or learn more about training and certification. Certified leaders looking to sharpen their skills and reconnect with the Unbound community can learn about the Unbound Practitioner Summit.

Wherever you enter, Unbound is an invitation to slow down, dwell in God’s Word, and continue walking toward freedom in the context of thoughtful, intentional, "one-another" care.
