Unbound Leader Certification Training
Forming Faithful Leaders for Freedom-Focused Discipleship
This training is designed for men and women who have experienced Unbound and are already walking faithfully with others
and who desire to steward this powerful discipleship tool with greater clarity, wisdom, and care.
Why This Training Matters
If you have been through Unbound, you know what a powerful discipleship tool it is. This training is not simply about learning a framework or acquiring a set of tools. It is a formation process that prepares leaders to serve others responsibly within the spiritual, relational, and pastoral realities that accompany freedom-focused discipleship..
Those who complete this training and are recognized by Truth in Love Biblical Counseling as Certified Unbound Leaders are entrusted to lead Unbound groups and to use Unbound as a discipleship tool within their ministry context with the solid backing of this ministry.
This is not to say that others using Unbound as a counseling or small-group resource are not competent to do so; it merely means we cannot say that for sure.

Purpose of the Training
This certification training has been developed to help those who lead others through Unbound do so with clarity, care, and faithfulness.
Because Unbound is often used in deeply personal and spiritually sensitive places, this training provides space to slow down, think carefully, and grow in discernment about how the process is used in real lives and real ministry settings.
Rather than promoting a single style or approach, the training helps leaders, counselors, and soul-care advocates:
The aim of certification is not to create experts, but to form trustworthy guides who handle the Unbound process with wisdom and care.

Rather than promoting a single style or approach, the training helps leaders, counselors, and soul-care advocates:
- Think biblically and pastorally about what is happening beneath the surface
- Recognize common misunderstandings and misuses of Unbound
- Lead with humility, patience, and respect for the person in front of them
- Know when to proceed, when to pause, and when to seek additional help
The aim of certification is not to create experts, but to form trustworthy guides who handle the Unbound process with wisdom and care.
What You Will Gain
Those who complete Unbound Leader Certification Training gain more than familiarity with the Unbound framework. Participants grow in clarity, confidence, and discernment within a learning community shaped by one-another care.
The training is intentionally relational, recognizing that wisdom in soul-care is most often formed through shared reflection, mutual encouragement, and thoughtful dialogue with others who are also walking with people toward freedom.
Through the training, participants will:
